Parents will understand
This is what happens when you’re bored and have two living toys to play with:

Another Milestone
Today I got the girls to actually eat food for the first time. Emily was putting away some baby food and I said “Toss it here, lemme give it a try.” And I did, and Clarity loved it. She got so excited about it at one point that she would not take her eyes off the spoon and kept her mouth open the whole time just waiting for the next bite. Once she got done I moved over to Moxie, who took it a little differently. At first she wouldn’t open her mouth, she would just stick her tongue out. So I slid the spoon into her mouth and wiped the food off the spoon with her top lip. Then she would let the food sit on her tongue like she didn’t know what to do next. Eventually she would swallow it and she seemed to like it and want more.
Anyway, it was really adorable and exciting to see them both eating and being pretty into it. Together they finished off almost the whole jar of apple sauce. Now to get them to go to bed at a decent time. That’s a whole other hurdle.
I love my babies!

A Tiny Pet Peeve
I hate it when I am pouring milk on a bowl of cereal, and it hits that one piece of cereal that is at just the right angle to deflect the milk and spray it EVERYWHERE! Bah!

Something a little different
Since it’s only been a few days since I last posted and I don’t really have that much going on that I can talk about, I’m just going to discuss some random things tonight.
First, I’ve decided that I will take on the project of finding free computers and computer parts wherever they are available, and use them to build whatever I can build with them. Then maybe I can sell them on Craigslist for $20 or something. They’re going to be very low-end machines. And I’ll most likely put some distribution of Linux on them, so that the user will get more out of the limited hardware resources than they would with Windows XP. They’ll be great for internet and word processing machines. Not much more though. But I’m sure someone will find a use for them and maybe I can make a little money in the process. If not, that’s fine too. I may end up just giving them away for free to someone who can’t afford a new computer. So if you are reading this, and you have an old computer laying around send an email to jason.crabtree@gmail.com and let me know what you have.
The second thing I want to talk about is Moxie. She has begun to squeal, even scream, when she is really excited. It started out as a loud cooing and has become an actual little girl scream. It’s ear piercing, but adorable and hilarious at the same time. I had no idea that kind of sound could come out of a baby. Clarity, fitting to her personality, just sits there and makes soft little cooing sounds. Until she decides she needs to be held, AGAIN. Then she can scream with the best of them. Gosh, what a drama queen.
And finally, I want to remind everyone that this Friday is January 18, 2008. Yes that’s right. 1-18-08. And we all know what that means, right? Cloverfield of course! It hits theaters this Friday and Emily and I are giddy like a couple of schoolgirls at a Hannah Montana concert. J.J. Abrams, your trickery has won us over. We are so excited to see this movie. I called up my mom tonight to see if we could bring the babies up to her house on Sunday for a couple hours whilst we go see what this movie is all about. Of course she’s fine with it, any excuse to have those babies in her arms.
Anyway, those are my thoughts for tonight. Have a pleasant week.

So, I Know I’ve Said This Before…
Here I am again, trying to give this thing another go.
So things have been going pretty well recently, aside from Emily’s job woes. But I think everything will be OK there as well. My job is going pretty well. It’s not the greatest thing in the world but I like it. Enough to stick around for a while anyway. I’ve done it before and I must say it’s a lot better this time. Once I get my A+ and Vista certifications I’ll probably start looking around for something else with more normal hours. I also hear from a former employee that they might be cutting people after the end of the fiscal year if things don’t get more profitable. We’ll see.
At home, things are great. We had a pretty decent Christmas I guess. Not as great as we had hoped. But there’s always next year. Peyton got a few gifts that she really likes and she was happy overall. We are caught up financially as well, after my little break between jobs and Emily restarting her job after maternity leave. For a while there we were struggling because we got behind, but once we got back in the swing of things we caught up quick.
Speaking of things that are quick, these babies are growing SO fast. I swear one day I was looking at Clarity in her car seat, I turned around and when I looked back at her she was drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. I mean these chicks gain like a pound every couple weeks or something. And I swear almost every day they make a new sound or do something cool that they’ve never done before. Clarity can now roll over from her front to her back, though she is shy about it most of the time. Moxie makes the loudest shrieking and cooing noises I have ever heard come from a baby. It’s just so amazing to see them grow. I can’t wait to see them start crawling and walking and everything. It sounds lame to everyone else, but as a parent those things are pretty much the coolest things you’ve ever seen. When they start cooing and making their little noises, I just couldn’t be happier.
And that’s pretty much how I feel at this point in life. I couldn’t be any happier.

The Downgrade
I decided I wasn’t serious enough about blogging to keep paying for a domain and hosting. So I’m going to keep it going, but on a free WordPress account. So between this and Emily’s blog, American Wife, you should be able to keep up with our oh so interesting lives fairly well.
Love you all.
Jason
